From the text file: “I originally wanted my Avind.wad to look like this level, however my expertise in level designing did not allow me this opportunity. So, as a goodbye to level designing I have chosen to make a level much like the one I started out with as a sort of tribute. I personally feel that this level is one of the best.“
Well, as you have probably noticed this level did not end up being my last and not my best work either. But at the time I wrote the above I was probably right. The level – despite its obvious misaligned textures and cramped feel – is actually decent enough. Looking back at it I can clearly see how my techniques had evolved and this was probably the best I could do in 1999.
